SFGE 2015 is pleased to welcome two fantastic musical talents to our show this year. Both have had a tremendous impact on the musical and cultural landscape in regards to videogames.
Chris Rickwood is an award winning composer known for creating dramatic musical scores for video games including the most recent multiplayer hit, Smite. His past work ranges from catchy melodies underscoring fights with cartoon evil geniuses to massive soundscapes suitable for building and destroying empires. Blending the traditional with the modern, Rickwood’s musical style is often a marriage of current musical genres with traditional instrumentation and orchestration. Hip hop for hammered dulcimer and djembe or heavy metal for full orchestra are the norm. Credits include Rising Storm, Orcs Must Die, Age of Empires Online, Madden NFL 12, Global Agenda, and Tribes: Ascend.
Jerry Buckner is a successful songwriter, producer, artist, and premier voice talent. As part of “Buckner & Garcia,” Jerry co-created a song that some would consider the soundtrack of a generation. “Pac-Man Fever” sold 1.2 Million copies in the U.S. and rose to the #9 spot on the Billboard Top 100 in 1982. As a keyboardist and arranger, Jerry has scored original music for television and motion picture soundtracks along with jingles for a variety of commercial clients including Coke, Papa John’s, Direct TV and Waffle House. In 2012 he co-produced and performed the title track to the hit Disney movie “Wreck-It Ralph.”
